What is it with people in South Florida and their attitudes? I am from the Midwest and can tell you that there is a distinct difference in behavior and attitude towards your fellow man in South Florida. Prime example being yesterday me, my wife and our friend sitting in a wheelchair parked in front of a table discussing how we were going to clean it (since it was disgustingly dirty)--along comes this middle aged man and he nonchalantlyplops himself down in a chair as if he is the only one in the world. My wife says "Excuse me. We were going to sit here." He chimes in and says something to the effect of "...well you were standing...there's a difference between standing and sitting"
I am a pretty easy going person but I can tell that this guy is just plain rude and inconsiderate. I mean come on first of all he had to see us nearly seated at the table and second of all what is the difference between claim to a table when you are parked in front of it even if your are not seated at it. So I get miffed at guy and start in with him. I tell him to "F'off" and things escalate from there and we continue to exchange words for a few moments. Is it just me or was this guy off base in the first place for plopping himself down in the chair to begin with?

There are rude, inconsiderate people everywhere unfortunately. I once pulled up to a pump to get gas. I looked in my purse to get my card that I was going to pay with and in the meantime this jerk pulled up crooked at the corner of the pump and proceeded to pump gas. When I asked what he was doing - he said - I was just sitting there - ahhhhh!!!!! What is it with people. Another thing that irritates me is when I am in the pouring down rain, holding a baby trying to cross the street to go to a Walmart and the people in their cars - who are dry - just keep flying by not letting me cross. This is the parking lot not a regular road. What does it matter if they stop for 30 seconds and let me cross the road? Put I guess you just have to take the high road and not sink to their level and yes the guy was out of line. He knew you were standing there for a reason.

What is important here is..who got to sit at the seat in the end?

If you did, you won!!

South Florida is overrun with rude people. It seems as if the worst of society has congregated there. How many times you see people running red lights, or cutting other people off in traffic, or taking up the whole shopping aisle without regard to who they may be blocking. People in South Florida spend too much time on their looks and what kind of car they drive. They are too obsessed with pursuing these things. It is a lifestyle rat race there. Everyone is stressed out trying to keep up with the joneses.

I'm from the Midwest too. Been living in South Florida for 20 years. I hate it here and am making plans to go back to Minnesota where the people conduct themselves with honor and integrity. If people acted in Minnesota the way they act in South Florida, they would be thrown out of the state.
